Garden Clippings

Garden Clippings, originally uploaded by PJBee.
Our NY home has a new family now to experience the best house we ever lived in. We designed it, had it built, loved every inch of it only to have to give it up and move due to economic conditions. We've not lived in it for over 4 years. When we visit family in NY it hurts to see it. If we could have trucked it down to SC we surely would have!

Goodbye sweet house. I know the new family loves you and that's what I asked for.

  1. It DOES hurt; and what a lovely place. I'm so sorry, Pam.

  2. What a bummer to lose something that meant sooo much. There will be another home that you design and love even more and it's probally just around that corner, just up the road apiece. Beautiful memento to it. I've never grown foxgloves, but I've seen them in masses around a little house out of Durango Colorado and they were glorious.
    peace n abundance,

  3. Thanks, Kate. We really put our all into this place. Bad timing is all. This part of western NY just died after 9/11. Ah well, at least we have beautiful memories :)

  4. Thanks, CheyAnne. We are on the road to recovery. Moving to SC was a good choice. It did take 3 years to recover from down-sizing :) Now that we've done that, life is simpler - less time cleaning, more time for art :)

  5. Such a heart-wrenching experience! Ours is a tiny home, but designed and built just for us, and I would hate to have to relocate. And, as for less time cleaning, I am leaving a note to be opened upon my death that will read, "If you find the house in terrible need of a complete top-to-bottom cleaning, you will know I lead a happy and productive life!"

  7. Your home is beautiful. A house built with love will surely be a treasure to all who live in it. I live in a almost 200 year old home and often wonder about the families who have been before- did they love what we do? It is nice that you can visit. We have a lot of visitors . . . . most have really good memories. They especially love to come see Trees that they planted and how big they have gotten. Your Foxglove page is just lovely- love the background and all te little details.

  8. Jeanette, I can tell you love your special home. May you not have to make a change unless you want to! I love your envelope idea - make it a decorated one :)

  9. Sandy, Thank you! I have learned how to take specially made places with me in my heart so I may recreate even small touches that bring peace.

  10. Carol, Thank you! I remember my first trip back to the farm where I grew up. I was a sobbing soul by the time the new owners answered my knock. I "I I uuuussseeedddd to lllliiivvveee ee hhheeeerrrreee." I was a mess :)
But, the visit helped me grow. I think leaving the NY house has been so hurtful as it so reminded my of my childhood home. I have been blessed twice :) More to follow, I'm sure :)
